30 Minute Run + Tone Stroller Workout

Finding time to workout with new baby has been challenging, so I created this mommy and me, 30 minute run and tone stroller workout. Mom can workout while baby enjoys the ride!

I could have titled this post with some catchy phrase like ‘push those pregnancy pounds away with this 30 minute run and tone stroller workout.’ Honestly, it was really tempting as those type of headlines perform really well on Pinterest {my number one traffic driving source to the blog}.

The reality is, working out post-Brody hasn’t been about losing the ‘pregnancy pounds’. As a group fitness instructor and fitness blogger, working out was the one constant in my life before Brody. If you’ve been following me, you know I shared #fitpregnancy workouts until Brody was born.  So working out post-baby has been a mental and emotional necessity; it makes me feel like ‘me’ again.

But finding time to workout with a new baby is challenging. Enter this 30 minute run + tone stroller workout —>>> mom gets her workout in and baby gets to enjoy the ride {and maybe even an outdoor nap}.

It’s a total win, win, win! The third win is for my husband, because movement makes me happy, and you know how the saying goes, ‘happy wife = happy life.’

The Workout: 30 Minute Run + Tone Stroller Workout

This cardio + strength stroller workout consists of three circuits. Each circuit has a cardio interval, stroller run/jog/walk, paired with two strength exercises. Complete each cardio interval and strength exercise for time or number of repetitions outlined below.

CIRCUIT ONE

Cardio: 6 minute stroller run/jog/walk

Strength: 

  1. Lunge + Knee Drive — 20 reps {10 reps per leg}
  2. Relevè Chair Squats — 20 reps

*Repeat the above strength exercises AMRAP {as many rounds as possible} for 6 minutes.

CIRCUIT TWO

Cardio: 5 minute stroller run/jog/walk

Strength: 

  1. Lunge + Rear Leg Lift — 20 reps {10 reps per leg}
  2. Side Leg Lift + Oblique Crunch  — 20 reps {10 reps per side}

*Repeat the above strength exercises AMRAP {as many rounds as possible} for 5 minutes.

CIRCUIT THREE

Cardio: 4 minute stroller run/jog/walk

Strength: 

  1. Warrior 3 + Knee Drive — 20 reps {10 reps per leg}
  2. Standing Glute Stamps — 20 reps {10 reps per leg}

*Repeat the above strength exercises AMRAP {as many rounds as possible} for 4 minutes.

Bumbleride Speed Jogging Stroller

Several of my mom and mom-to-be readers have asked about my jogging stroller. I have the Bumbleride Speed Jogging Stroller; yes, I love it! It rides so smooth, keeping Brody sound asleep while I run. 

I’m currently using the car seat adapter until Brody is big enough to transition to just the stroller seat. He’s my little motivator. He looks up at me with his big baby blues and brings a smile to my face as I huff and puff up hills. I’m sure it won’t be long till he’s yelling, ‘faster mommy, faster!’

CIRCUIT ONE
