Things I Love and More {October 2015}

so here’s how it’s going down. i am going to share things that bring a big, squinty-eyed smile to my face. like 3 things i personally love right now, 3 things i’m currently working on {accountability goals} and 3 things for the fit girl in you.

3 things i personally love right now

  1. comfort food. i’m embracing the cooler weather and the cozy fall meals that accompany it; like stuffed acorn squash,  turkey veggie sauté with herb roasted sweet potatoessweet potato turkey chili and apple cinnamon oatmeal
  2. making a christmas list. it’s too early for me to think about putting up a christmas tree or holiday tunes; but it’s never too early to start putting together my christmas list — especially since i’m on a shopping hiatus.
  3. being back in the studio teaching. i’ve officially kicked my walking boot to the curb and i’m dancing, jumping, running and playing freely and it feels so good!

3 things i’m currently working on

  1. moving my body more. yes, i work out regularly, but then i sit…a lot. i trap myself behind my computer in full on #gsd {get stuff done} mode for hours daily. i’m trying to move my body more throughout the day. taking breaks away from my computer even if it’s a 10 minute walk around the block or quick 5 minute stretch.
  2. spending less time fretting fear. i’ve been letting my worries and fears turn circles in my head. why worry when i can pray? reading all about this in my devotional, prayers for the dreamer and the doer by the wellstudio.
  3. disconnecting one day a week. closing my laptop and disconnecting from social media one day a week {typically Saturday or Sunday}. a girl can only take so much screen time and we all need a break.

3 things for the fit girl in you

  1. protein that won’t make you bloated and gassy. if your protein {particularly whey protein} is making your tummy grumble, try using a vegan protein. i recommend sun warrior {the natural warrior blend is my favorite}. i add one scoop to my post workout green smoothie.
