Bring on the stuffing, mashed taters, green bean casserole, roasted veggies and pumpkin pie! Thanksgiving is almost here and I finally have an excuse to overload my plate…I mean I’m eating for two right?!
Can I just proclaim my love of stuffing for a minute? It’s literally that dish I only eat once a year on Thanksgiving. I’m not sure why, I mean, I should make it more often. But what’s not to love about warm-baked, savory carbs? Throw some mushrooms in there and I’m really drooling. Please tell me I’m not talking to a wall…stuffing-lovers where you at?
I’m excited to share that I’ll be getting my first helping of Thanksgiving stuffing this Saturday at Friendsgiving {dear Emily, my good friend who’s making the stuffing for Friendsgiving, I hope you don’t feel any pressure after reading this post, but the stuffing better be good :)}!
I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m not sure why that big bird seems to be the main attraction of every Thanksgiving spread. I’m always drawn towards piling my plate high with stuffing and roasted veggies. Of course you can’t forget pumpkin-everything for dessert too.Â
So today I’m sharing all the healthy thanksgiving side dishes and deserts that have caught my eye from my favorite foodies on the web. Skip the food coma by putting these healthy recipes on your Thanksgiving menu; and feel good about gobbling them up!
I had to add these two bonus recipes too, because I just found these no-bake pumpkin cheesecake parfaits and I’m so making them for friendsgiving along with the roasted acorn squash and quinoa salad with cranberries above.  And the open-faced cranberry + turkey sandwich is a Thanksgiving leftovers must.Â
