i know what you’re thinking…i was just getting the gusto to make green smoothies and now you’re going all green juice on me. before you sprint off to target to purchase a juicer {or dust off the old one you received as wedding gift when you were planning to be a domesticated wife}, try making juices in your existing blender.
whether you have a magic bullet, nutribullet or vitamix try juicing these simple ingredients; knowing that it will probably be a little ‘chunkier’ than if you used an actual juicer. but give it a try and if this green juice thing has your tastebuds dancing {or it’s the only way you enjoy your greens} then you can contemplate purchasing an actual juicer.
green pressed juices are a great way to add a ton of disease-fighting micronutrients into your diet without eating your weight in salad. however, they can get a little high in sugar if you are throwing in handfuls of fruit.
i like to keep my fruit minimal, 1 fruit per green smoothie/juice. but unfortunately, the grassy, vegetal taste of some green juices can be hard to swallow for juicing newbies. so if you’re taste-buds aren’t quite there yet, work your way up to fruit-free recipes by adding some more fruit if needed.
here’s a quick and simple green juice for beginners with only 5 ingredients – spinach, apple, cucumber, lemon, ginger.
This is THE perfect green smoothie; simple, tasty and so energizing! Great recipe ?
Yes! Simple, fresh ingredients for the PERFECT smoothie! Enjoy! xo-Lindsey
