Fit for Her Minneapolis Event Recap + 30-Minute Barre Strong HIIT Workout

Together we raised $7,000 for The Her Initiative to bring clean water and hygiene education to women in developing countries while empowering women here to feel strong and confident! I’m sharing all the details, photos, and video highlights of Fit for Her MPLS, including the barre strong hiit workout we did at the event.

I’m still in awe of everyone who showed up, supported and contributed to the Fit For Her Minneapolis Event I hosted earlier this month with Fit Foodie Finds and The Real Food Dietitians!

We set out to raise $5,000 for The Her Initiative and we absolutely crushed our goal; raising over $7,000 to benefit The Her Initiative {in partnership with Healing Waters International} and bring clean water and hygiene education to women in developing countries. 

Not to mention the energy that filled 514 Studios on Saturday, February 18th was absolutely infectious. I hope every woman who came left knowing that made an impact that will continue making waves in the lives of women for years to come. To say this has been the highlight of 2017 for me personally and nourish move love as a business is an understatement.

This event truly is an initiative to get women here supporting women around the world, and I firmly believe amazing things can happen when women support and empower other women. So thank you to every single person who showed up and contributed to Fit For Her Minneapolis {see below for our full list of vendors and sponsors}.

Trip For Her to Dominician

That’s right, we are taking the momentum we’ve gained here in Minneapolis to Dominican Republic November 6-10th. If you’ve always wanted to partake in a service trip I encourage you to consider joining Kayla Founder of The Her Initiative, Lee from Fit Foodie Finds, myself and several other awesome ladies as we hit the ground for a 5 day service trip.

We will be staying in Santo Domingo and traveling to different project sites. There are only 6 spots left so if you’re interested in joining us please email lindsey@lindsey.madetothrive.com and kfruchtman@healingwaters.org.

If you’re looking for a challenging bodyweight circuit workout try this 30 minute barre strong HIIT workout we did at the event. It’s a combination of Barre-inspired strength exercises paired with 30 second HIIT cardio intervals.

Complete each exercises for 30 seconds as outlined below and take rests as outlined or needed.

Strength

  • 30 second strength move one: walk out to plank
  • 30 second strength move two:  push ups

  • 30 second cardio move one: 10 mountain climbers + 10 high knees
  • 10 second recovery: rest or plank
  • 30 second cardio move two: 10 plank jacks + 10 jumping jacks
  • 10 second recovery: rest or plank

Strength

  • 30 second strength move three: pliè squat + side leg lift + punch
  • 30 second strength move four: alternating front lunge + punch

  • 30 second cardio move three:  squat jacks

  • 30 second cardio move four: jack + punch
