Recipe type: breakfast, oatmeal

Serves: 1
chocolate for breakfast {raw, cold-pressed cacao that is}.
  • 1 c old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ -1 c hot water or nut milk
  • ½ -1 banana {sliced}
  • 2 tbsp raw cacao
  • 1-2 tsp chia seeds
  • cinnamon to taste
  • optional: 1 scoop protein of choice {whey, hemp, vegan}
  1. heat the oatmeal and water/milk in a pot on high heat.
  2. once it starts boiling, turn the heat to low and add more water/milk if needed. depending on how much time you have, let your oatmeal simmer on very low heat until it's thick and creamy.
  3. when the oats are cooked to your liking, add the cacao powder, cinnamon, sliced banana, optional protein and stir. you may need to add more water/milk at this time as well.
  4. pour in a bowl and sprinkle chia seeds and top with extra banana slices.
*if low on time you can always just heat water/milk over stove or in a teapot. combine all ingredients in bowl, add hot water/milk, stir and enjoy!
**you can also make this into an overnight oats recipe by combining all ingredients in a mason jar and store in the fridge overnight {note, no need to heat water/milk just add all cold and dry ingredients together}.
