Chocolate + Berry Skinny Yogurt Parfait Because It’s My Birthday!

Savoring every bite of this chocolate + berry skinny yogurt parfait because it’s my birthday and if there’s one thing i could tell my younger self it would be to slow-down and savor life!

chocolate + berry skinny yogurt parfait | www.nourishmovelove.comI’m sticking a candle in this chocolate + berry skinny yogurt berry parfait because it’s my birthday week! While I’m celebrating turning 28, I’m also celebrating my one year blog-iversary.

There’s a lot to celebrate, and August will always have a special place in my heart as it marks the start of something I’ve always dreamed of — running my own business. And what a ride it’s been. A crazy rollercoaster ride that is, filled with the highest of high’s and the lowest of lows.

In fact, I recently read this post on well + good titled, 8 things no one tells you about pursuing your passion and man, that article couldn’t be more spot on. Yes, for every smiling, jumping picture you see on Instagram, know that there was also a late night coffee cup filled with frustration; dealing with rejection emails, spontaneous website crashes, and paralyzing to-do lists.

But I wouldn’t change a thing. And as I reflect on the past year and turning 28 I’m overwhelmed with gratitude. The best career choice I ever made was marrying my supportive husband who never stops believing in me {even when I’m throwing an 11pm temper tantrum, he never let’s me throw in the towel}.

And then there’s you guys, every single eyeball on this page right now and every person who’s broke a sweat to one of my workouts. To you I owe a tremendous amount of thanks. You’ve given me purpose and for that I’ll be forever grateful. Thank you for letting me share my dream of making the world a brighter and tighter place!

Now it’s time to cheers spoons and dive into this chocolate + berry skinny yogurt parfait together. And savor every bite. Because if there’s anything I’ve learned after a year a pure hustle and busting my butt, it’s that it’s ok to slow down. Although I may not get to where I want to go quite as fast, at least I’ll enjoy the journey a little bit more.

And let me tell you there’s a lot of exciting stuff on the horizon for nourish move love! Yes, despite the fact that I’ve failed miserably in hitting the goals I set for page views, sponsored posts, money brought in and all the tangibles that define success; I’m not giving up.

In fact, i’ve decided my personal hashtag is #pbpwmgnfwmy {please be patient with me, God’s not finished with me yet}.

Ok, now i’ve tested your patience enough…about that chocolate + berry skinny yogurt parfait recipe I promised you…

  1. Linds, first off HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Second, you’re amazing and you’re right where you need to be! Never ever forget that. Remember…we’re not curing anything here and it’s not a race – no one is timing us. I’m so excited for what’s to come and to watch you continue to grow. And it’s been such a blessing to be on this journey with you, hand-in-hand! Cheers to an awesome year ahead full of growth, new opportunities, balance, and most likely some “failing forward”! xoxo

    • Thanks Stac! And I couldn’t agree more, totally right where I’m supposed to be (as are you lady)! I wouldn’t be here without you continuing to believe in me, support me, and pick me up on those days where I just want to throw my hands in the air and quit! Excited to see what the next year holds for us Stac! xo-Linds

  2. Happy birthday and blogiversary, Lindsey. I’m new here and don’t really comment much on things online, but thought I’d jump in and, hopefully, add a little encouragement. As someone who twice started her own business (small potatoes stuff, but, still, it was mine), it usually takes a lot of work and some time to build a business to be “successful,” and, yeah, it is disappointing when the numbers and financial rewards aren’t really there. However, Lindsey, your business is about helping people get stronger and encouraging them to live healthier lives, and that’s a huge thing. I found you through GHUTV and saw you as someone who wants to encourage people to be strong but has a warm personality, too…….I’m saying this awkwardly, I guess, but you seem very real to me when I fight through one of your workouts. That realness and warmth is a real blessing and you are helping people, so by all means celebrate!

What I would tell my younger self?……….Hmmmm, I would probably start by saying, “All of that stuff in the Bible…..yeah, it’s true. Think about it…Really think about it…..and, you know what? That means you are a very valuable and precious person, even if you aren’t a size 5, wear cool clothes, and have the latest hairstyle. Don’t tear yourself down and don’t worry about what everyone else thinks. Stop eating the junk, get off the couch, and get moving. Be the best *you* you can be.”

    • Thank you so much for your kind words and words of encouragement Sheri! Sounds like you’re a real go-getter and totally understand that growing a business takes time, something I am experiencing and learning first hand :)! I’m so glad you found me through GHUTV! I love working with Chris and thank you for the feedback! I love the idea of getting to motivate hundreds of women via home workouts — so fun! And talk about amazing advice to your younger self! I love it! Keep being the best you, you can be! xo-Lindsey

  4. What a great post! Happy birthday and happy blogiversary!!! You’re killing it girl! Remember, in volleyball they don’t report stats for serve receive…. arguably the most important part of a win! Just sayin…

    • Thanks Abs! And I love your sports analogy; even greater appreciation coming from a former libero :)! xo-Linds

  5. I would tell myself that carbs are not the enemy and I don’t need to do 45 minutes of cardio/day to keep the weight off.

Congrats on one year Lindsey! Maybe you aren’t where you thought you’d be but Im continually impressed by you and the professionalism and passion behind everything you do. Have an amazing birthday and blogiversary, you deserve to celebrate!

    • Emily! I love your words of wisdom! It took me years to repair my relationship with carbs! Thank you so much for your kind words, it means so much to hear from a fellow blogger!
