One of the best parts about being a blogger and content creator is really getting to know the companies and people behind the brands in my cupboard. 

If you follow me on social, you know that this past weekend I had the opportunity to travel to Illinois to tour one of Now Foods manufacturing facilities and headquarters.

I had the opportunity to have dinner with Jim Emme, the CEO of the company, and walk through the manufacturing process with the scientists and quality teams behind each of the products lines.

As a result, I walked away eager to stock my pantry with even more NOW Foods products. Not to mention, I’m excited to try more of their product lines including — beauty products, essential oils, and sports nutrition supplements.

Let’s start by diving into their Natural Foods line, specifically my five favorite pantry essentials for clean eating.

Healthy fats from oils are part of almost all of my meals — I toss all my roasted veggies in avocado oil, I use coconut oil for meal prep baking, and I make dressings out of extra virgin olive oil.

One of my favorite Now Foods oils is their liquid coconut oil {pictured above}. It remains a free-flowing oil at room temperature which is so convenient for baking; and it has a higher concentration of MCT fatty acids.

It’s always great to have a bag of plant-protein quinoa in the pantry, and even better to have a batch meal prepped in the fridge for the week. Quinoa makes a great lunch-time salad topper and easy side to any dinner {I prefer mine tossed with roasted veggies}.

Pro tip: whenever I make a quinoa bake {I love this sun-dried tomato quinoa bake recipe from Fit Foodie Finds} I double the recipe and bake an extra pan, loaded with veggies, to use as meal prep throughout the week! Cooking quinoa on the stovetop can be a drag, so this is usually the only way I ever have cooked quinoa in the fridge for meal prep! 

Now Foods also has quinoa pastas made with rice, quinoa, and amaranth. These make a great allergy-friendly substitute to traditional pastas as they are free of wheat, corn, soy, and other common allergens. I personally, like using quinoa penne pasta for cold, Greek-style pasta salads that you can bring to a group BBQ.

We go through bags of rolled oats in our house {not even counting when I was breastfeeding, because that was honestly record-breaking — oats are great for lactation if you’re a breastfeeding mama}!

Oats are the budget-friendly foundation of most of meal prep recipes — from my lemon blueberry muffins to my spinach banana pancakes, and this new oatmeal bake I made this past weekend which is going to be a new breakfast staple for Brody.

I also loving adding ground flax meal {another lactation superfood} and chia seeds to pretty much any recipe that uses rolled oats to add some extra healthy fats and fiber.

TRAIL MIX! My go-to, on the go pre-or-post workout snack. I always have a bag in my purse and gym bag.  

I buy pre-made trail mixes, but I also love to make my own {like this superfood trail mix recipe}!

I always like having a variety of my favorite nuts on hand to make my own trail mix blends — almonds, cashews, and pecans. And of course trail mix isn’t complete without some dried fruit, like apricots and golden berries {and I usually add dark chocolate too}.

And I have to admit my new salad obsession includes these honey roasted pecans!

Because I live in Minnesota, you never know when your neighbor is going to be Minnesota-nice and snow-blow your driveway, borrow you a ladder, or just pop over for brunch. I like having a banana bread or brownie mix in the pantry for these last-minute occasions.

And it never hurts to throw in a little extra cacao {pure chocolate in its most nutritious form}!
